hi, my name is sandy springer. i've been ateacher since 1993. i have a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's degreein english as a second language, and i'm also certified to teach spanish, grades k-12. itaught in both public and private schools in florida and in new jersey. today i'm goingto talk to you about how to teach reading using audio books. this is a fabulous toolto help your child to learn to read. because when a child is using audio and has the bookin front of them, they're getting a double dose. they hear it and they can see it, andthey're not struggling to get through the words. this is especially important for childrenwho have some type of a disability, a processing issue, or just has trouble reading. it makesa little bit more relaxing, because they're
not the one that has to come up with the word.so it's a great thing because the child can put on the headphones, sit down, have thebook out, and read along with the cd; and if they miss something, they can always goback to hear it again. it's an excellent way to learn to read. again, i am sandy springer,and i just taught you how to read using audio books.
