well i first found out about the library through facebook. worldremit uploaded a video, and it justappeared in my news feed at the time and i was really touched by the storythat i decided to share it. and then i thought, there had to be something me,as a librarian, for me to do that i can help or contribute to nanie’s cause. whenever i’d receive a message on facebookthat there would be books to collect, i’d schedule them on a day and i’d free up aday – like a day off from work and just drive around melbourneand collect all the books. so my car was full of books for about a month, because i didn’t really have much space
in my apartment to put them. hey, nice to meet you! so these books were donated for free from an australian book publisher. there are also some books here that are second-hand, they came from my workplace. that’s a smarter – you know second-handbooks has the vibration of the real owner. yes, i know. this is a story of australia, some books that talk about the history and they’re written like comics. i have too much, give balance by sending thesebooks to the remotest island provinces
that i know is in need. so go ahead – straight snoopy – charlie brown!and then from melbourne, australia… books can change the world. this is the world that needs the books that makes them have knowledge.the remotest places the books can reach, especially the second-hand books, the hand-me-down books. it’s very important to this kind of community. this has life, you’re giving back life tothis waste of other people. in 20 years, people might buy groceries…
i wouldn’t have known that this place existedif it wasn’t for social media. and to think it’s halfway across the world, and that we were able to bring the books over, for me it’s like a big accomplishment tobe able to do this, thanks to worldremit.
