i'm jeanna rock and we're discussing ideasfor starting a book club. now, i'm assuming that you're going to organize your own bookclub because you haven't found one that really meets your needs. the first thing that youcan do is just to notify a few friends that you're interested in starting a book club.and let them invite people as well. make sure you let everyone know where you're going tomeet and when you're going to meet. and for the first discussion, i would suggest thatyou choose maybe some short stories that can be found on the internet and have some groupmembers read those short stories and discuss that. at that first meeting, make sure youhave a lot of food because that's one reach we do book group is for the food!! and also,discuss at that meeting where you want to
go with your book group, how you want to organizeit, how you want to choose books. so mainly your first meeting is just an organizationalmeeting with a little bit of discussion on a few short stories. after you've discussedwhat books you're going to read for your book group, contact your local book stores. i knowthat several of them have offered us a 20% discount if we buy our books there. but wemust register our book group with that store to get the 20% discount. also, you might wantto check your library as well. the orem city public library also carries quite a few booksavailable there for book groups. so you might want to check to see what books they haveavailable that you could check out as your group. also, looking at their book group listsmight even give you some suggestions on books
that you might want to read as a group aswell.
