there is one thing that you need to hearabove everything else. jesus died for you. despite everythingyou have done in your entire life, god loved you so much that he waswilling to send his only son down to the earth to live a perfect life and then die for you. what sort of crazy love is this? that aperfect god would give up his perfect son— so that people like you and me canbe redeemed? he paid the ransom for our sins, providing us a way of escape frometernal punishment.
he offered us a chance at life and life to the full. he offered us freedom in him. what did jesus do? he did everything. i want you to fully understand what thismeans. i want you to comprehend the cost involved, the torment he suffered, and theseparation from god he experienced. once you understand what he really did, you begin to understand what you are worth to him.
you begin to understand that his loveis unsurpassable. it is extravagant. glorious. perfect. you might say, "i don't deserve his love." nobody does. that's why it is a gift. despite our messed-up lives, we get toreceive god's love by accepting his son jesus christ as our lord and savior.
a lot of people will tell you that thereare many ways to be saved, but the truth is that salvation is only accomplished through the death and resurrection of jesus christ. yes, he died. but then he also rose again so that you and i might be forgiven of our sins and made alive in him. you want to find salvation? find jesus. you want to know what it is like to be set free? know jesus. this is the deciding moment. this is your chance to truly begin to seek god.
if you are thinking, "i have tried before andit just does not seem real to me. i feel like god is just an idea sitting outthere in space and he really doesn't have a lot of effect on my life." listen to me. if you have not experience the life-changing power of god, chances are you have never made jesusthe lord of your life. god is real. jesus is real. if you believe in him, he will changeyour life.
you will not be the same person anymore. you will be a new creation in him. romans 10:9 says, "that if you confess with your mouth jesus as lord, and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
